Broward Continues Making Strides Toward Fixing Bus Fiasco
Broward
school officials say they are making steady progress to mend the
transportation mess that marred the start of the school year. Jeffrey
Moquin, who oversees the transportation department, said the district
has hired 64 drivers since school started and will continue recruiting.
The first couple weeks of school were plagued by a disastrous bus
service that left students stranded and parents outraged. Drivers
arrived late to pick up children or failed to show up at all. District
officials attributed the problem to a shortage of drivers.
